A Photography Journey
In the 1980’s, one way I made it through college was working at Time Life Libraries, confirming telemarketing sales of their books. One of the managers there awarded me a couple of books from the series called Life Library of Photography. The sleek black books with their glossy pages piqued my interest, so I purchased a used 35mm SLR camera and began to experiment with some of the techniques and ideas I had read about.
Eventually life and career happened and photography fell to the wayside. I spent time raising a kid and 30 plus years buried in the minutia of a highly technical field, reading, parsing and implementing parts of something called Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations. My left brain got regular workouts and became a behemoth, while my right brain withered. I never once shot a photo with my 35mm camera during those years.
Coming full circle to present day, seasons have changed yet again. I am dedicated to living life differently now, working my right brain. A couple years ago I purchased a new camera; digital and mirrorless. Quite a change from my first one. I hunt for the light, the clouds, the mountains, the rivers, the compositions. I’m just getting started, and I’m sure there will be plenty of good and bad photos along the way, but I know my perfect photo is out there.

Bret
